With a careful winemaking process and proper aging, wines can last several years after it is released and continue to develop to the point of perfection. At Turiya, I keep a small amount of older vintage wines in the library to help with the assessment of the lifespan of the wine. This purposeful extended aging allows me to continue to bottle age these wines, tasting them during the process, and making valuable notes for future vintages. I invite you to add some of these rare wines to your collection, each on truly gets better and better. ~ Cheers! Angela

My first glass of killer wine was a Chianti aka Sangiovese but from Italy’s Chianti region. It is the grape that turned my head and MADE me fall head over heals in love with wine. I am so grateful for that glass. In 2011 I made my pilgrimage to Tuscany and visited some of the famed Brunello producers. I noted that to create a Brunello, (which is the Sangiovese grape), the wine must be aged for at least two years in barrel and released 50 months after harvest - or at least 5 years from the harvest date! So, you see, I am not the only one who ages wines for a LONG time before releasing! Brunello’s are some of the most beautiful, big, expressive wines in the world and are highly sought after by wine collectors. This is my homage to the grape, and to the tradition of creating a wine in the ‘Brunello’ style.
