Plum, blackberry, and baking spice, deeply and richly expressing that Christmas is coming as it’s tones of mulberry underline black charcoal laced earth. As mouth filling as that sounds ,this wine is pretty, like a tender kiss sneaking in that tangy mid palate splendor and fading into a blissful finish. All that said, the nose is the ultimate experience on this wine; It’s exploding with aromatics. Give it a smell, give it a taste and tell me what you think.

Hand bottled, hand waxed. 24k gold screen-printed bottles. Signed by the Winemaker.

A little extra:
I was scouting Sanger Vineyard as new source for my Sangiovese but while walking the vineyard I could smell the Merlot ripening on the vine and my nose led me to the hillside growth. I had to beg to get just one ton allocated to me for the harvest making this wine is a coveted creation. This is the only time I have had the chance to score this fruit and I am so happy with the way it turned out. My second time making Merlot (2012) and the first time from the Santa Ynez Valley. Needless to say, I passed up on the Sangiovese that year because this Merlot won my heart.
